School Nurse

🩺 The Role of Our School Nurse
At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we are guided by our mission to recognise every child as a precious gift from God. As part of our commitment to nurturing each pupil’s wellbeing, our school nurse plays an important role within our wider pastoral and safeguarding team. Although the nurse is not based on-site, they continue to support our school community with care and compassion and can be contacted for a range of health-related concerns.
Parents and carers are welcome to contact the school nurse for advice on managing medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies or epilepsy. The nurse also offers guidance on emotional wellbeing, hygiene, nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices, helping families to make decisions that support the growth and flourishing of each child. They assist with care plans for pupils who have specific health needs and can help coordinate referrals to other health services when required.
If you have concerns about your child’s physical or emotional health, or if you need support in accessing health services, please contact the school office. We will be happy to help you get in touch with the school nurse. Through their professional expertise and nurturing approach, we work together to ensure every child feels safe, supported and ready to grow in confidence and in the light of Christ.
